Meet Randy DeGeest
My mediation practice is based upon my extensive experience in the legal field, including 30 years as a general practice attorney specializing in mediation, school law, labor law, probate, civil trial work, real estate, and juvenile law.
In 2009 I became a District Associate Judge and in 2013 was appointed to serve as a District Court Judge by the Governor of Iowa.
I have presided over hundreds of civil docket cases, including dissolution of marriage, modifications, and child custody matters, hundreds of civil lawsuits including multi-million dollar jury trials including personal injury cases, medical malpractice cases and employment discrimination cases. I also served as a member of the Supreme Court Task Force Committee that established mandatory mediation in the State of Iowa for child custody matters.
Since retiring from the bench in May of 2018, I have focused on helping people like you to find solutions to a wide range of disagreements through the power of mediation.
